Established in 1966, Selected Reports remains the principal publication of the department. Each volume, at times accompanied by an audiocassette tape, contains essays around a central theme concerning ethnomusicological theory and method, particular world music areas, comparative analysis, or specific aspects of ethnomusicological research.
